The Dangers of getting rid of old hard drives

If you give away a computer, a hard drive or sell them or donate them, if you do not fully clean that hard drive then they can steal your identity.

Formatting a hard drive does not remove most of that information. You must return that hard drive to what they call military standard. This really means making it like a new hard drive with “all zeros” when the image is read.

Sales pitch! I do this and can do it for you. I have the tools, the knowledge and skills to do that. Shipping will cost about the same. I can retrieve all your information and put it on a usb device and send it back to you. I will then wiped your hard drive so that no information will be found. Used hard drives are worth little these days and some are even sold as “refurbished”. I try to be fair. I try not to over charge for something that can take a 1/2 hour to and hour complete the task.
